मराठीतील कथा
एकेकाळी जंगलात ससा आणि कासव यांच्यात शर्यत लागली. शर्यतीसाठी दुसऱ्या दिवसाची सकाळची वेळ ठरली. ससा आणि कासव आणि कासव ठरलेल्या वेळेत आले. जो सर्वात अगोदर समोरच्या टेकडीवर जाऊन पोहचेल तो शर्यत जिंकेल. शर्यतील सुरुवात झाली. ससा वेगाने धावत पुढे निघून गेला. कासव मात्र हळू हळू जात होता. थोड्या अंतरावर जाऊन सशाने मागे वळून पाहिले तर काय कासव हा फार मागे होता. म्हणून सशाने झाडाखाली थोडा आराम करायचे ठरवले. ससा झाडाखाली झोपी गेला. तेवढ्या वेळात कासव हळू हळू येऊन सशाच्या पुढे निघून गेला. आणि काही वेळात कासव ठरलेल्या ठिकाणी टेकडीवर जाऊन पोहोचला. इतक्यात सशाला जाग आली आणि बघतो तर काय कासव शर्यत जिंकलेला होता.
Story in English
Once upon a time in jungle there was a race between rabbit and tortoise. They decided next day morning time for race. Rabbit and tortoise came at decided time. And discussed that who will reach first to the hill will win the race. They started for race. Rabbit went fast so far but tortoise was going slowly. Rabbit turned back and saw that tortoise is so back then rabbit decided to take rest under the tree and rabbit slept. Meanwhile tortoise came slowly slowly and crossed the rabbit and in next some time tortoise reached to the hill at destination point. Meanwhile rabbit woke up and saw that tortoise had won the race.
