challenging because SMART goals have a specific rubric. They are specific,
measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. While setting the specific goal,
one should avoid confusion in mind and identify the specific area of improvement
by setting various parameters to work harder towards the goal. One must reflect
on which area of your potentials should be improved, how to improve it, what parameters
should be involved, why and when should it be achieved. The set specific goal must
be measured by including specific scale of assessment and it should track the progress
with benchmark performance. The goal that is set should be achievable. It must be
within the reach of one’s potentials. Chasing rainbow brings nothing but the frustration
in life. So the goal must be realistic realizing one’s own capabilities and skills.
Too ambitious and unrealistic goal brings failure only. One must think of time parameters
and fix the deadline for the set goal so that one can focus on his/her goal. After
all, accountability determines the goal. So develop this art to be SMART.
